DWA And RSL Governance

Since researching and writing the Board Members Handbook for Community Housing Cymru, Governance assignments have played an increasingly important role in DWA's portfolio.

Our current work with Boards in both England and Wales includes:

Training Boards on legal and corporate responsibilities
Advising Boards on a range of effective Governance strategies
Supporting Boards preparing for Inspection or Registration

DWA are also engaged in several complex Troubleshooting and Corporate Recovery assignments across the country.

Governance In Plymouth

For Plymouth Community Homes DWA are currently developing 8 new multi-stakeholder Continuous Improvement Groups that will report to the Board's Customer Focus Committee.

We have also facilitated the new Board's development of their overall vision.

We are also providing Governance training for would-be Board members as part of Plymouth Community Homes' Governance Succession Plan.

In Rutland

In July 2009 tenants voted "Yes" to Rutland County Council's Stock Transfer proposal. DWA have been invited to stay on in the county to work with Spire Homes, the Rutland Tenant And Leaseholder Partnership and the new Rutland Management Board to develop local performance measures.
